Network Connecting An AstroHub

Several people have asked if it is possible to make a network or even wireless connection to the host side of an AstroHub. To achieve this goal a "Network to USB Converter" is required.  Or said differently, this could be done with a network enabled USB hub.

One such device has come to our attention that fits this bill and claims to be USB 2.0 compatible and to work at USB 1.1 full speed (12Mb/s).  It will only do bulk or interrupt USB transfer and not isochronous transfer (e.g. for live video).

We haven't tested this product and cannot say how well it would work with a typical astronomy setup but in theory it should work, albeit at USB 1.1. speeds.

The device is made by Digi International and is called AnywhereUSB
